Named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the Top 20 Guitarists of all-time, the celebrated British singer-songwriter Richard Thompson has been staging a quiet revolution in folk-rock for almost 40 years with his sometimes soulful, sometimes electrifying and always brilliant music. The recent recipient of the 2006 BBC Lifetime Achievement Award, Thompson is one of the world’s most critically acclaimed, prolific and influential songwriter, admired and recorded by artists ranging from Bonnie Raitt to David Byrne and Elvis Costello. Following his witty 2006 concert at UCLA Live spanning 1000 years of popular music, this rock and roll legend and elder-statesman of alternative rock returns to his classic electric sound in a loud and lively concert marking his first full band performance in three years. Making their Royce Hall debut, the Richard Thompson Band will perform songs from Thompson’s most recent album, Sweet Warrior, as well as selections from his astounding body of work.
