Marianne Faithfull
The ever-resilient Marianne Faithfull returns to Royce Hall for a concert featuring the work on her latest critically acclaimed album, “Easy Come Easy Go.” A rock icon since the 1964 when she recorded the hit “As Tears Go By,” Faithfull has, despite hard times, re-emerged repeatedly onto the pop music scene in the decades since, each time with something profound to offer listeners. Her latest collection of songs, carefully selected with famed record producer Hal Willner, shows how masterfully she makes any song fully her own, whether it’s Dolly Parton’s “Down from Dover,” Billie Holiday’s “Solitude” or “The Crane Wife 3” by contemporary indie band The Decemberists. For this performance, Marianne will be joined by a magical quartet of Greg Cohen on bass, Smokey Hormel on guitar, Rob Burger on keyboards and Joey Baron on drums.
